Soil Vapor Extraction and Air Sparge Operation, California Refinery

A global oil and gas corporation commissioned the operation and maintenance of a remediation system designed to remediate soil and groundwater beneath an active California refinery. The remediation systems included one soil vapor extraction (SVE) system capable of extracting 14,000 scfm of soil vapor, and an air sparge system. The property had soil and groundwater impacts that resulted from releases of gasoline, crude oil, MTBE and reformate. The operations and maintenance activities included operation, preparing operation and maintenance manuals, preparing an optimization plan, performing client reviews, preparing annual system evaluation reports, and proposing/implementing system upgrades.
