Soil Vapor Extraction | Technology Description
Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) is an in situ remediation technology designed to remediate soils impacted with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including gasoline, and chloroethenes. This technology works by extracting soil vapor at a high vacuum using subsurface wells, then treating the soil vapor prior to discharge.

Dual-Phase Extraction System: Permitting, Design, Construction, and Operation | Industrial Redevelopment Berkeley, CA
The soil and groundwater at a former industrial building located in Berkeley, California were affected with trichloroethene and gasoline. A dual-phase extraction system was permitted, designed, and constructed for site remediation. The site underwent remediation while the developer remodeled and repurposed nearly 500,000 square feet for commercial, retail, office, and light industrial uses.

Site Closure Plan and Closure Strategy and Regulatory Support, Former Aerospace Site, Southern California
A soil vapor extraction system located at former aerospace site in Southern California had operated for a number of years. The client requested a strategy to obtain regulatory site closure. In response, a site closure plan was prepared outlining a schedule and a list of technical and administrative requirements to support site closure. The closure plan also listed methods and procedures to demonstrate that site-specific cleanup concentrations were protective of human health and groundwater.

Treatment of Groundwater Impacted with 1,4-Dioxane, Westlake Village, California
The development plan for a former media manufacturing site impacted with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and 1,4-Dioxane in groundwater included the construction of a large development in Westlake Village California. A feasibility study concluded that a pump-and treat system consisting of an advanced oxidation process combined with liquid phase activated carbon (LPGAC) was required. The follow-up work included preparing a detailed design, preparing NPDES permits for storm water discharge, process flow diagrams, layout diagrams, and process and instrumentation diagrams.
